Tres Bien Award

Each year the Alumnae of the Academy of the Sacred Heart have the privilege of nominating a fellow graduate for the Très Bien award.  This award, established in 1994, is awarded to an outstanding alumna who is:

  • A graduate of a Sacred Heart school,
  • A woman of faith,
  • A volunteer who currently gives or has given recent service to Coteau,
  • A woman committed to the values of the Sacred Heart, and
  • A woman who has concern for the development of others.

The Alumnae Board chooses the recipient from among each year’s nominations. The award is given in October at the Annual Alumnae Luncheon.

The Maria Paradelo Mater Award

The Maria Paradelo Mater Award was initiated and given in 2008. The Purpose of the Award is to recognize an alumna who has displayed the attributes of Mater throughout her adult life, despite full immersion in the secular world.

The Criteria for the Award:

  • Personal and active faith in God
  • Deep respect for intellectual values
  • Continued mission of Mater into adult life with faithfulness, humility and an acceptance of God’s will.

The Alumnae Board will choose the recipient from each year’s nominations. The award will be given in October at the Annual Alumnae Liturgy.

The first year recipient of this award was Maria Paradelo Friguls.

We hope that if you know an outstanding Sacred Heart woman who meets the criteria for the Maria Paradelo Mater Award that you will nominate her so that she may be considered for this award.
