Schools of the Sacred Heart partnered with SAGE Dining Services® in 2014 in an effort to provide a more well rounded food service opportunity to our students. Our students enjoy a variety of healthy food choices prepared daily by the SAGE staff. SAGE’s seasonal menus are custom designed for us, reflecting students’ preferences as well as the fresh products available in the market. SAGE’s registered dietitians review and approve each menu to ensure that it offers a wide variety of nutritious choices.
The use of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and house-made entrees allows SAGE to offer a balanced menu. Nutrition education materials guide students to make their own food choices. The Spotlight Program and its key messages of variety, balance, and moderation help students develop a positive relationship with food and understand how to make informed choices.
The Spotlight Program is also utilized by SAGE managers and chefs to create menus that exemplify variety, balance, and moderation.
